One District One Movement

Scouting is the biggest mixed youth organisation in the UK and offers young people from 4-25 years the chance to make new friends, share adventures and learn skills for life.

We offer a wide range of activities and through our programme we encourage all our Scouts to do more, learn more and be more.

Welcome to Croydon District

Croydon District Scout Council (Croydon Scouting) are based in the London Borough of Croydon and are part of Greater London South West Scout County.

We currently have 32 Scouts Groups and 6 Explorer Units with an active Scout Network.  A Scout Group welcomes both boys and girls and typically consists of Beavers (6-8 years), Cubs (8-10.5 years) and Scout (10.5-14 years).

We are very pleased to confirm that in Croydon we now have a Squirrels Drey operating in Purley.  Squirrels are the newest and youngest uniformed Section offering a special Scouting programme for (4-6 year olds).

We are fortunate in Croydon to also have two great assets.  These are  Scout Campsites – Bears Wood Campsite and Pinewood Scout Centre. Both offer a range of camping and various activities for both Scout Groups, Guides and other local youth organisations and schools.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
