Young Leader and DoE Volunteer Registration

Young Leaders are Explorers who are volunteers with a group and they MUST be registered with the Young Leader Unit.

Additionally YLs may be a member of one of the other units to pursue additional activities with their peer group.

Any DoE Volunteer MUST also register with the YL Unit and must complete Module A training before their service is signed off. A DoE Volunteer may only volunteer for the period of service appropriate to the level they are working towards.

Young Leader & DoE Volunteer Registration

  • If you do not know the Scout Group please write the leaders name or where they meet
    if you have recently finished as a scout you may only volunteer with the scout troop having been away from the troop for a period of at least 6 months.
    if you are volunteering for your DoE service, you may only volunteer for the period of your service, you do not wear scout uniform and you are only allowed to assist on the section meeting evenings.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
