Croydon Civic Remembrance Parade

Date: 9th November 2025 Location: North End, Croydon (outside M&S) Sections: Scouts & Explorers

Meeting place: outside Marks & Spencers, North End, Croydon, by 10:15  – Sunday 9th November

Whilst we know many groups will have their own Remembrance parades, we would encourage each Troop and Unit to send representatives to the Croydon Civic Remembrance Parade on Sunday 9th November.

Young people and adults should arrive no later than 10:15 as this year the parade will be stepping off at 10:20 – these are new times due to a change in the parade’s format (including a short inspection by the Mayor and Deputy Lt outside the town hall.

Groups and units sending young people should ideally send an adult member to take responsibility for (and hold emergency contact details for ) their members. If your group cannot arrange an adult to attend, please speak to other local groups in the first instance to arrange the appropriate ratios of leader cover, and please speak to Ant, DLV, if this poses a problem. A short risk assessment will be completed prior to the service – this will be shared verbally with the adults present on the day – groups should assess their own risks for travel to/from the parade depending on their journey and method of transport.

It goes without saying that those attending should be in full smart uniform and shoes/boots. As per POR, comfort and safety always come before ceremony and formality, but please ensure your young people have the appropriate base layers, gloves / scarf and coat (all ideally navy blue) as appropriate to stay warm and comfortable during the parade.

The parade will be dismissed at the Park Lane end of Katherine Street at approximately 11:45. Groups/Units should make their own arrangements for departure from, and pickup after, the parade.
